FAQ
Is ScanForge investment advice?
No. ScanForge is an analysis and research tool. All output is for informational and educational purposes only. Always do your own research and consult a licensed financial advisor.
What data sources does it use?
Polygon.io for market data and historical samples, yfinance for live prices, Finnhub for company news (primary), Grok / xAI as fallback, and Claude AI for fundamental enrichment.
Can I run it locally?
Yes. ScanForge is a Python application — a self-hosted option will be available at the Forge tier. Mock mode runs with zero API costs.
Does it execute trades automatically?
No. ScanForge generates ranked ideas and a full paper trading system for testing. It does not connect to live brokerage accounts or place orders.
What does it cost to run?
At the API-cost level: typically $0.25–$0.40 per full analysis run, or roughly $5–$8 / month for 20 trading days. Your subscription covers hosted infrastructure and API quotas.
